McLean More than 40 jewelry designers will be on hand at the McLean Community Center Saturday, Feb. 4 for the fifth annual McLean Jewelry Showcase.
"I’ve gone to the show for the last two years, and it’s great that it takes place around Valentine’s Day."

"I’ve gone to the show for the last two years, and it’s great that it takes place around Valentine’s Day," said Jon Pinero of McLean. "My goal is to take my girlfriend and hope the price of admission counts as my gift, while she pays for the jewelry. Unfortunately, that doesn’t usually work out."
Jewelry comes in a number of different media, including glass, metal, wood, wire, clay and even an artist who works with recycled paper.
Returning jewelers such as Brighter Day Beads, Starland by Hand and Joan Danoff will join newcomers Eloa Jane, Divergence Design and Kim Sutherland.
"I always go to those and find people who make jewelry out of things I didn’t think could even be pretty, much less beautiful," said Jasmine England of McLean. "Last year I remember someone that had made these amazing nautical-themed pieces, with pearls, but also different shells and ocean items that were stunning."
The showcase will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is $3. A coupon for $1 off admission is available at www.mcleancenter.org/special-events/jewelry.asp
