Lake Anne ES had an assembly to culminate the All School Read of “The One and Only Ivan!” Melissa Kowolski, an animal educator from Critters and Conservation, brought animals from five different continents with her. During each assembly she talked about animal behavior, basic biology, the food web, biomes, animal jobs, vertebrate and invertebrates, animal adaptations, the importance of biodiversity and conservation, and much more, helping young people grow up to respect animals and their roles in their lives.
