Lorton: Young Girl Drowns in Pool

Around 4 p.m. on Memorial Day, Fairfax County Police answered a report of an unresponsive child at a pool in the 9000 block of Lorton Station Boulevard.

According to Police, after Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene, the girl was taken to Lorton Healthplex. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Office of the Medical Examiner said the cause of death appeared to be accidental drowning. Police don’t suspect any criminal behavior was involved.
