Fairfax County Police Major Crimes detectives have an Alexandria man in custody for fatally stabbing his wife in the 8400 block of Diablo Court. A murder warrant was obtained for Ricardo Molina-Martinez, who is in his late 40s. The victim is Yesenia Membrano-Diaz, 35, of Alexandria.

Officers had responded to the home on Nov. 28 at 4:50 a.m. after a resident reported she heard screaming outside and then saw a woman outside on the ground. Officers found Membrano-Diaz; who was unresponsive, suffering from trauma to the upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division and from the Crime Scene Section investigated. A K9 team and the police helicopter, Fairfax 1, responded to help search for a suspect.
