Burke: Alcohol and Speed Suggested Factors in Fatal Crash

Crash reconstruction detectives are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred March 14 around 12:23 a.m. near Burke Commons Road and Roberts Common Lane.

Fairfax County Police said a preliminary investigation suggests alcohol and speed were factors in the incident.

The driver Christian G. Dominguez, 25, of Burke and front seat passenger Cristian A. Merino, 28, of Burke were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A third male passenger, 25, who was in the rear seat of the silver Saturn sedan didn’t require medical treatment, police said.

Detectives believe Dominguez was heading north on Burke Commons Road and lost control of the car, resulting in it sliding off the street and the passenger side hitting a tree.

Police said Dominguez and Merino weren’t wearing seatbelts, while the rear seat passenger was strapped in.
