The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation presented a check on Oct. 13 for $79,895 to Virginia first responders and public safety organizations including the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, City of Manassas Park Fire and Rescue, Manassas City Police Department, Loudoun County Police Department, and U.S. Park Police.

The ceremony took place in the sunken garden behind the restaurant at George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, which manages the historical estate, received a high-pressure water mist fire suppression system for Washington’s mansion, worth $22,944.

Park police received a set of seven automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to be carried in officers’ cruisers, worth $7,800.
