On April 14, Burke resident Larry Pyos, 35, received a sentence of 115 years in prison for multiple armed robberies charges involving Fairfax County and Falls Church businesses. The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Dana Boente’s office.
Pyos was indicted for conspiracy, armed robbery, using firearms in committing robberies and being a felon in possession of firearms. He shot at employees in two of his spree’s robberies. The offenses began Christmas Eve 2015 when Pyos robbed Good Fortune Supermarket in Falls Church.
In Springfield, Pyos robbed the Shri Krishna grocery store, Dollar Power store and Ding How Carryout.
Additional robberies included the Hong Kong Palace Restaurant in Falls Church in April 2016 and a McLean Subway sandwich shop in May 2016.
Pyos was arrested May 11, 2016 and found guilty by a federal jury on Oct. 20, 2016. His girlfriend and co-conspirator bought the handguns Pyos used in the crimes, the announcement said. She previously pleaded guilty to charges related to Pyos’ robberies.
