Nearly 900 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, plus some 700 other volunteers, eagerly lent a hand during the Nov. 9, Sully District Scouting for Food drive to help fill Western Fairfax Christian Ministries’ food pantry. They collected, sorted and transported more than 65,000 pounds of food donated by the community to help local families in need. “It’s an increase from last year of about 3,000 pounds,” said event chairman Michael Adere. “This is a phenomenal achievement for a one-day collection and is a testament to the overwhelming generosity of the people in our community.”
