For a full day of fall festivities, Fairfax City is the place to be, this Saturday, Oct. 26. From children’s activities, to dinner and drinks, to World Series baseball, there’ll be something for all ages.
The fun begins with the Witch Watch Halloween Festival, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Old Town Square, 10415 North St. There, children will enjoy music, games, prizes and other activities at this spooktacular, free event. Halloween costumes are encouraged, and candy will be handed out at this safe, trick-or-treating event.
Afterward, the Old Town Fairfax City Fall Crawl, for those 21 and over, will be held from 1-7 p.m. The event features nine Old Town restaurants where specialty drink and food options will be available when a passport is shown. And people are encouraged to come in Halloween costumes to compete in a contest for prizes.
Passports – identifying the participating restaurants and their special options – may be picked up at the check-in location at Red Effect, 3950 University Drive, No. 103, in Old Town Plaza. Patrons are then free to visit the restaurants of their choice.
When they make a purchase at those restaurants, their passports will be stamped. And while supplies last, people visiting four of the nine restaurants may then receive a free, commemorative glass at the check-in location. In addition, the first 24 passport-holders at participating restaurants will receive a Washington Nationals button. For more details, go to fairfaxcityconnected.com/fallcrawl.
After the Fall Crawl, people are invited to stop by Van Dyck Park, off Old Lee Highway, and cheer on the home baseball team, from 8-11:30 p.m. This Washington Nationals World Series Watch Party will include food and beverages available for purchase.
“In Fairfax City, we pride ourselves on creating events that highlight our businesses while bringing our community together,” said Danette Nguyen, Economic Development assistant director/programs manager. “We welcome everyone to visit us this Saturday to experience our walkable Old Town and enjoy a great, fall evening with friends and neighbors.”
