Car Used to Burglarize Smoke Bazaar in Springfield

Detectives seek community’s help after four burglarize Springfield store with stolen vehicle.

Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department’s Major Crimes Bureau are asking community members to help identify four males involved in a commercial burglary that occurred early Sunday, May 21.

Around 12:40 a.m., officers responded to the Smoke Bazaar at 6715 Backlick Road in Springfield after a stolen 2013 silver Hyundai Elantra was driven through the storefront. The four males entered the business, stole merchandise and left the area in a stolen 2019 black Hyundai Elantra. The suspects are described as 15 to 20 years of age wearing black face masks; one was wearing a green jacket, police said.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the silver Hyundai Elantra used in the commercial burglary had not been reported stolen yet. Detectives determined the vehicle was stolen between Friday night and Saturday night from a parking lot in the 8900 block of Lorton Station Boulevard in Lorton.

According to FCPD, the black Hyundai was reported stolen around 11:36 p.m. on Saturday from the 8900 block of Lorton Station Boulevard in Lorton. It was recovered unoccupied on Sunday morning in the 9200 block of Wildwood Lane in Lorton.
