Fans of fast cars and sleek fashion converged on the streets of Alexandria as the fifth annual Old Town Festival of Speed and Style returned May 19 along King Street.
Tens of thousands of people were on hand to view more than 100 rare and exotic supercars and motorcycles from around the world.
Larry Reaves of Reston was one of the many car owners at the festival.
“This is a 1941 Super Deluxe Ford 2-Door Sedan,” Reaves said. “It is a very special car. It is a pre-war car – no cars were being made up through around 1946 because of the war. The original color was a light green but the previous owner had it restored.”
The event celebrates the speed and performance of exotic sports cars while emphasizing their design and style. A fashion show featured models dressed to match the style and elegance of the various cars on display.
“I’ve had my car for about a year but have decided to sell it,” Reaves added. “I already bought a Corvette to replace it.”
Presented by Burke & Herbert Bank, all proceeds from the event benefit ALIVE! and Community Lodgings.
