The team from Carl Sandburg Middle School in Alexandria prepared Pumpkin Pie Yogurt Parfaits. From left are Annabella Mason, Michiko Magnant and Meghan Green. Brendan Green and Winnie Mikulski, also seventh graders at CSMS, assisted with product development and testing. Students were inspired by their love of pumpkin pie, created a well-balanced snack under 200 calories, and prepared it for the public to sample during the RFFK Culinary Challenge and Expo. All students are Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America members at CSMS. Heather Jones, CSMS Family and Consumer Sciences teacher and Chef Paul Magnant are advisers to the team.
